Moon i5.3每声道使用一对Bipolar电晶体，8欧姆负载下可提供85瓦功率，当负载降为4欧姆时，输出功率则增加为130瓦。细緻作工与精巧优雅外观是Moon i5.3给人的第一印象，而合理的设计与充沛动能则是它做为一部Simaudio代表性产品的必要条件。

Moon i5.3的功率放大级使用无总负回授设计，除了可以使讯号放大更为精确，并降低不必要的音染外，还可以减少负回授所造成的相位不正常。大型订製环形变压器提供Moon i5.3充沛的动能，加上优异的电路设计，Moon i5.3的输出阻抗相当低，只有0.04欧姆，进而大幅提高它的阻尼因数至200以上，这样的规格对于一部85瓦输出功率的综合扩大机而言，已是极为难能，亦可以想见Moon i5.3对于一般喇叭都具有良好的控制力。Moon i5.3在所有讯号行经的路径上看不到任何一颗电容，加上刻意规划的电路板，Moon i5.3的讯号路径只有14英吋，可尽量减少讯号衰减并避免干扰。此外，Moon i5.3可以算是一部「准」双单声道扩大机，虽然两声道的电力来源来自同一颗环形变压器，但仍是以不同绕组供电，加上两声道全对称的电路设计，相信Moon i5.3的声音表现将可直逼一部真正的双单声道机种。
