Home THX® is a set of performance standards developed by Lucasfilm for digital surround audio. Based on five full bandwidth channels and a subwoofer, these standards require identical left, right and centre speakers whose output is channeled into a wide horizontal beam across the listening area, complemented by more diffuse surround speakers.

There are two standards of Home THX: Select and Ultra. KEF Reference Series THX speakers conform to Ultra®, the most demanding.

To carry the THX logo, every product must first be approved by George Lucus' Skywalker Range test facility. No problem for KEF - after all, we've been making speakers to 0.5dB tolerance for years.

The award-winning TDM Series combines Reference Series refinement and built quality with the huge reserves of power and extended bass needed to recreate the excitement and intensity of cinema quality sound at home.

Designed to generate the diffuse yet well-defined ambient soundfield THX Ultra® demands, TDM 34DS is an advanced dipolar three-way speaker of tremendous authority. Dual 160mm (6 1/2") midrange
UNI-Q®drivers incorporating Ferrofluid cooled soft dome tweeters are mounted on inclined lateral baffles for maximum dispersion, flanking a central B169 'racetrack' LF cone in its own discrete enclosures. Compact and easy to mount, it delivers an all-enveloping aural image with superlative bass extension.
